Sunday Worship

We begin our regular Sunday worship service – young and old together – in our sanctuary. Children ages 3 and under are welcome to stay in the service, or to be cared for by our nursery staff. Following a Time For All Ages early in the service, we “sing the children out” to their Religious Exploration classes.

There are Visitor Cards in the pew racks in the Sanctuary which we would ask you to fill out if you want us to add you to our newsletter or e-bulletin list – the best way to get to know what’s going on here at First Universalist! The card also allows you to request a meeting with our Minister or Director of Religious Education.

After the service we welcome visitors join us for coffee downstairs in the Gathering Room (Vestry). We would love to have you come down and give us the chance to say hello and answer any questions you might have. Taking a blue mug for your coffee alerts us to the fact that you are a visitor or new member, and allows us to pay special attention to getting to know you.

We ask that parents go to the nursery and Pre K/K classes immediately following the service to pick up children before coffee hour.

Worship Calendar for July 2010

July 4th - Freedom - Rev Jennifer
Sometimes questioning the status quo is seen as down-right unpatriotic, but we'll celebrate the 4th of July this year by asking ourselves the question "Are we free?" Join us at the summer worship time of 9:30 am for exploration, music and reflection.

July 11th - Our guest Minister this Sunday will be Rev. Kate Braestrup, Chaplain to the Maine Warden Service and author of Here if You Need Me and Marriage and Other Acts of Charity. She will be joined by Worship Weaver Angie Arndt

July 18th - Clam Festival (church closed)
We encourage you to attend the Tri-Community Interfaith Service (11:00 am) at the Old Meeting House on Hillside Street. You can find out more about it here http://clamfestival.com/event/event_list.php?event_date=2010-07-18

July 25 - Our "Big Questions" Summer Series
Elizabeth Chapman kicks off our popular summer series of "Big Questions" services led by our lay worship leaders, the Worship Weavers Guild.
