How to Decorate the Altar

1.  Sign Up!

• Pick a Sunday on which you’d like to decorate the altar.
• Sign up by email, or put your name(s) on the sign-up sheet on the vestry bulletin board nearest the kitchen.

2.  Plan your decoration:

• It could be simply something you think is beautiful: seasonal flowers, a painting, or statuary, for example.
• It could be memorabilia connected to a significant event or person in your life.
• It could be something symbolic to the theme of the service (feel free to consult with the Minister or a Worship Weaver, if you would like to talk about the service topic).

3.  On the Sunday that you've chosen to decorate:  Set up your decorations on the altar by 10:00 (it's nice to have the altar decorated by the time people begin to arrive, and some arrive as early as 10:00 to hear the choir practice).

4.  After the Service:  Pick up your decorations, or make arrangements to have them delivered to someone — a homebound member or someone who is ill, for example.

Thank you for thinking about volunteering to decorate the altar. You can do it for one or as many Sundays as you like.
