Giving and FundingHow You Can Give to the Church Sunday Plate Collection Half of each week's plate collection goes toward funding the church's general operating budget; the other half goes to a community outreach organization or project. Some of the programs contributions have gone to in 2005 are the UUA Gulf Coast Relief Effort, Transylvania Flood Relief, Interfaith Fuel Assistance, Safe Passage, the Minister's Discretionary Fund, and our Community Outreach Fund. Annual Canvass The Annual Canvass is held every spring to raise funds for our operating budget. Every church member is asked to contribute to maintaining our historic building, paying our staff, keeping the lights an heat on, and keeping our programs healthy and vibrant. |
