Annual Report 2005–2006

Report from the Music Director

The choir continues to be a lively and engaged group. There are 38 members on my current email list, and usually there are between 8 and 14 members singing on Sundays. Our “new” rehearsal space is the sanctuary chancel, where we gather on Thursday evenings from 6 to 7:30.  We have discovered the acoustics of the apse!

We welcome newcomers. In lieu of formal auditions, we simply ask prospective members to come try us out on Thursday evenings.

The choir participated in Naomi King’s ordination last June and will be singing at Peter Friedrich’s ordination this June!

Since September, 2005, the choir has sung at all but 5 or 6 Sunday services. We put together a “Music Sunday” once a year, where the choir is featured instead of readings and a sermon.  The one in 2006 will be June 25.

One of the things at which the choir excels is creating fantastic gourmet potluck dinner extravaganzas every few months. It’s one of several great reasons to join the group!

Sincerely submitted,
Deb Sawyer
